Another day, another dollar. Another dollar, one less opportunity.
It's the most wonderful time of the year, review time! I submitted my option of my performance throughout the year only to have my direct supervisor agree with my critique of myself which resulted in me getting a stellar review. Now, it's time to translate that into cash and my increase is less than 3k. While I'm not one to compare myself to anyone else... in the corporate world I feel the need to set my eye on one person I think is slightly less knowledgeable than myself but in a comparable position. One that started around the same time that I did; this is the person I will use as a measuring stick for comparison purposes.
In my opinion, the percentage of increase I received this year is comparable to a cost of living increase. However, my measuring stick colleague received a promotion. Yeah, and she don't know the process either.
Either way, I am appreciative of what I have and wonder if this is why my palms were itching the other day?!
