Here&Now

I've never focused on now.
Not that I can recall.
I've never focused on the current moment.
I've never considered this very second.
This might be my biggest "Ah Ha" moment yet.

I've never fathomed being present.
I am sure that when I was a child, I never considered the future.  All there was was the moment I was in - Once upon a time.

All I remember is always hoping for the future.  Wishing the next moment was better than the current moment.

This year did something to me, though.  Taught me lessons I would have said I learned had I been asked.

This year has taught me better.  Threw life at me with lessons my heart will never forget.  The memories that cause my flesh to mourn are the same memories that make my soul rejoice. Memories that have made me realize that I did not savor the now back then.

The memories that made me realize there is no rush.

Right now is all there is.
I want to focus on the current moment.

I am considering every second.

This very second.

Every keystroke and how the buttons feel beneath my fingers; this moment isn't wasted on me.  I am thankful for it.

Now.

Right now I can hear the sound of the rain hitting the leaves on the plants in my flower bed. That made me appreciate the sunny moments we had yesterday and be thankful for the rain that is saturating the soil.

I am focused on now.

I move forward; I live now.

I don't want to forget this.  This moment will never happen again, and I want to remember the day I realized that this moment is the only thing I have.

I pray for the next moment, all while constantly surrendering all moments.  I am everything and nothing.  I am everything because I am nothing. I am nothing, but I have everything in this moment.

Right now I pray for more right nows.

I pray that right nows turn into tomorrows.

I pray tomorrows turn into better right nows...

But right now?!  Feels good to be able to be present now.

Thank you for all, as it is in this very moment.
I Savor now, Savior.
